Grilling Season: Food & Wine Pairings

Grilling Season: Food & Wine Pairings
May 9, 2022 Georgia

The warm weather of late spring and summer brings about grilling season. During this time, we enjoy gatherings in the backyard and picnics at the park with friends and family. Of course, each gathering is centered around one thing: the grill. If you’re looking for delicious pairings to go with your favorite barbecue dishes, look no further.

burgers and wineBurgers & 2018 Estate Upper Bench Merlot

The 2018 Estate Upper Bench Merlot is an elegant wine that greets the nose with rich aromas of ripe cherry and violets, followed by a lush mouth feel with layers of blackberry, currant, and a touch of chocolate. These flavors combine with soft and supple tannins to create a long, silky smooth finish. It’s easy-going and yet offers the complexity that wine enthusiasts will seek.

For your pairing, keep it simple. A classic beef burger with cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo and ketchup will complement the wine beautifully. Looking for an elevated burger? Add Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms instead. This simple and delicious pairing is certainly a crowd-pleaser.

steak and wine Steak & 2019 Estate Tytanium Flagship Red Blend

Hoping to take your barbecue to the next level? Throw some steaks on the grill and pair with our 2019 Estate Tytanium Flagship Red Blend. This sophisticated wine opens with alluring aromas of wild black cherry, anise and cocoa. Deep indigo tones lead to a soft, silky generous mouth feel accompanied by flavors of dark fruit and toasted oak. Layered, complex flavors remain lingering on the palate with an exceptionally long finish.

The complexity of the wine complements the steak and creates a high-end experience with low effort. Filet mignon is a great option here but for our vegetarian friends, grilled portobello mushrooms will be divine.
